Orolu Chairmanship: The Political Sagacity Of Timothy Olagoke Ojelakin

Hon. Timothy Olagoke Ojelakin is a Political stalwart, born into the family of Ojelakin's of Afin's compound, Ifon Osun in Orolu Local Government of Osun State.

He attended Baptist Day Primary School Ifon, between 1975 and 1981 where he had his Primary School leaving Certificate. 

He proceeded to Ifon & Erin Community high school in his home town, Ifon Osun from the year 1981-1986. Due to his Passion to acquire more knowledge and and love for education he gained admission into the Great king University, the Obafemi Awolowo University (OAU) Ile Ife.

At this prestigious home learning he studied Philosophy/Psychology and graduated with B.A Hons in the year 1998. Being a lover of education and politics he balanced it up with religion. He is a committed and devoted Christian, an Anglican by denomination of St John's Church, Ifon Osun. The Church that celebrated her Centenary anniversary at present location few years ago.

Due to his hardworking and dedication in the vineyard he was made Church secretary for years and later elected as People's Warden/Treasurer the position he is holding till now.

Hon. Olagoke, started his political career as a student unionist where he functioned as Public Relations Officer (PRO) of Federation of Ifon Osun students. 

He later dived into active politics. He served as a two term secretary of the People's Democratic Party in Orolu Local Government.

In 2018, prior to the Osun State Governorship election, the astute leader was one of the coordinators for Sen. Ademola Adeleke for Governor. 

Also during the campaign for the just concluded general election 2023, Ojelakin was nominated as Atiku/Okowa for President in Orolu Local Government.

In the past and till now Timothy is a die hard and card carrying member of People's Democratic Party. When the Party was in opposition he maintained his stand and contributed his own quota in the ward Local and State level.

He is a man that worths what it takes to be the Chairman.
