JUST IN: Gov. Abdulrasaq Revert The Policy Of 3-Working Day

The Kwara State Government on Thursday, made an announcement on the reversing of the earlier made policy of 3-Day working for the civil servants.

Dated back on June 5, 2023, the State Government of Kwara, through a letter from the State's Head of Service, Mrs. Susan Oluwole, reduced the number of working days for the workers, from five to three working days.

In her statement, she said the decision was to avert the effect of fuel subsidy removal by the Federal Government, on the workers in the State.

Recently, the same policy has been reversed, through a letter that the HoS, Mrs. Oluwole sent to the heads of Ministries, Departments and Agencies. She said, the new instruction was to allow the Federal Government and the organised labour to work out modalities on more ways to intervene to combat the effect of the subsidy removal.

In the letter, been signed by Mr. Okedare Adeyinka on behalf of the HoS, said that the intervention would be unveiled very soon.

Mr. Adeyinka said, " I am directed to inform all heads of Ministries, Departments and Agencies (MDAs) that the reduced number of working days have been reversed; hence all categories of workers are to observe the normal five working days per week, with effect from July 10, 2023.

"Workers not covered in the initial workday reduction, which lasted a few days, will have stipends given to them as a show of appreciation."

According to a report, those workers that are exempted from the policy, were teachers, health practitioners and other categories of workers providing essential services in the State.
